Dixie Chopper-sponsored midget racer the next big thing?

With speed and raw power prominent among its pedigree, Dixie Chopper has lent its name to a number of rising stars in the pulling and racing circuits.

Most notably, Dixie Chopper sponsors 2007 National Truck Pulling Champion Jake Zaring, NHRA regular Morgan Lucas and ASA Late Model driver Nick Neville, along with drivers like Hoosier Steve Casebolt in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and NASCAR West driver Jason Patison of Lake Forest, Calif.

And now comes the youngest member of the Dixie Chopper stable of drivers -- seven-year-old Trevor Neville of Mackinaw, IL who just enjoyed his first autograph session in the Dixie Chopper booth at the 2008 National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville.

Dixie Chopper is now sponsoring Trevor, who drives on the QMA (Quarter Midgets of America) circuit.

Trevor started racing quarter midgets last fall, finishing second in his first-ever race on the indoor dirt track at the Springfield, Ill., state fairgrounds. He followed that up three weeks later with his first victory at Columbus, Ohio.

Trevor’s racing roots run deep. Older brothers Nick (also sponsored by Dixie) and Derek are former QMA racing champions, and each is a member of the Mini-Indy Quarter Midget Hall of Fame. They currently compete in the ASA Later Model Series. Meanwhile, their 10-year-old sister Danielle is also a QMA competitor.

You won't catch Trevor playing video games or skateboarding on Saturday nights this season. He plans to race Saturday nights at the ALQMA club in Lincoln, Ill., as well as in special events on both dirt and pavement throughout the Midwest.

The young racers are the children of Jamie and Beverly Neville, Mackinaw, Ill. The Nevilles all drive for Buzz Motorsports.

The No. 55 Chevrolet Monte Carlo of Nick Neville was also on display in the Dixie Chopper booth at the Farm Show. The 19-year-old Neville’s Dixie Chopper car is fresh from a second-place finish in the 10-race ASA Late Model Series Northern Division.
