Buzz Motorsports team tackles ASA LMS fastest speedway!

By Buzz Motorsports, Mackinaw,IL (5/23/07); Another racing weekend has flown by! The backdrop this time was the immaculate seven-eights mile Iowa Speedway near Des Moines. The Dixie Chopper banners were proudly displayed again along the pit road wall behind the #55 Nick Neville machine and also of his teammate the #95 of Derek Neville. Just qualifying into the stellar field was considered a big accomplishment and both Buzz Motorsports cars were able to do just that. Nick posted the 28th fastest lap in qualifying while Derek fared better locking down the 11th starting spot.

Race time proved challenging for Nick as what was later determined to be a faulty shock absorber held him to a 20th place finish. On the other hand Derek was able to challenge the leaders throughout most of the race and brought home a solid 11th place finish to earn bragging rights for the week in the Neville household!!

Nick's #55 Dixie Chopper crew, lead by vetern crew chief Kevin Tunks of Clinton, Wi is determined to eliminate the gremlins that have plagued them this early season. After posting fast time in qualifying for the opening race of the season at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville, his luck has disappeared! An early race crash while running near the front of the pack in Nashville coupled with fuel pick-up problems at Indianapolis seemed to be a whole seasons worth of misfortune in just the first two races. The broken shock at the Iowa Speedway has just added "insult to injury" that has rallied the team to prove what it is made of!!!

This coming week-ends return to the familiar Grundy Co. Speedway in Morris, IL may be just the medicine Nick needs. Last season he was able to test and race there several times and is very comfortable on the one-third mile oval. This could very well be the race that puts the Dixie Chopper ASA LMS car into victory lane for the first time!

Meanwhile, the #95 Ben E. Neville Trucking team has been cruising along at full speed. A 12th place finish in his first ever ASA LMS Challenge start in Nashville along with a 7th place run in the Northern Division opener at ORP in Indianapolis set the stage for a great weekend of racing at the beautiful Iowa Speedway. Qualifying at over 132 MPH and finishing just barely outside the top 10 proved that Derek, Crew Chief Chad Stevens and the entire 95 team has the momentum going in their favor as they prepare to travel north to the Grundy Co. Speedway for this weekends Bob Milner Memorial 125 .
