The “Brothers Neville” preparing to go back where it all started; The I-70 (MO) Speedway and the North VS South All-Star Shootout/World Cup 200 awaits.

By Buzz Motorsports/M.P.H. Promotions
Mackinaw, Illinois (09/20/2006): Buzz Motorsports with drivers Derek and Nick Neville are preparing for one of the most anticipated races of the 2006 season within the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts.

The “Brothers Neville” with younger brother, Nick leading Derek by just 10 points in the chase for the 2006 Appleton Rack and Pinions Rookie of the Year title in the ASALMS Northern Division are heading back to the place where their respective pavement careers took off!

The I-70 (MO) Speedway in Odessa, Missouri will host the North VS South All-Star Shootout/ World Cup 200 on Saturday and Sunday September 23-24, 2006. This event will match the cars and stars of both the ASALMS Northern and Southern Divisions together for the first time ever in a grueling 200-lap Feature around the wicked fast .543 mile high-banked paved oval.

In addition, Crew Chief, Bobby Hutton returns to the Buzz Motorsports stable after a few weeks off. Both Neville siblings are very excited at not only returning to the famous Show-Me State high banks, but the return of Hutton only adds to the excitement.

“I’m really looking forward to the return of my crew chief, Bobby Hutton this weekend at I-70. His absence the last few races had left a big hole in the team.” Stated the 18-year-old Nick Neville, the current Appleton Rack and Pinions Rookie of the Year Points Leader in the ASALMS Northern Division.

“I love high banks at I-70. When we tested and raced there earlier in the year I felt comfortable after the first few laps.” Continued Nick. In the inaugural ASALMS Northern Division event back on May 6, 2006 at I-70, a flat tire at lap 60 while running third dashed any hopes of a win. “It’ll be great going back to a place I have raced at before!” Nick added.

As for older brother Derek, the 20-year-old will debut a new car at I-70. A Lefthander Chassis Chevrolet Monte Carlo. This one will be painted red and carry the familiar #95. “We took it to Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne, Indiana to shake it down last weekend during the Super Pro show there and it performed flawlessly! Derek stated.

Like his younger brother, Nick, Derek is anxiously counting down the days until the 11th race of the 2006 season in the ASALMS Northern Division. “I can’t wait to get to I-70 to race the new car. We built in a few upgrades that seem to make a big difference in the way it drives.” Explained Derek.

“I had a pretty good run going earlier in the year at I-70, moving from 17th starting position up to seventh until I ran out of gas with six laps to go.” Laughed the elder Mackinaw, Illinois Neville Brother. “That shouldn’t happen again, the new car has a bigger fuel cell in it!” Smiled Derek.

After the North VS South event at I-70, both Neville Brothers will be featured speakers at the annual Caterpillar Tractor Employee Motorsports Club meeting in Pekin, Illinois on Thursday September 28, 2006.

In the last ASALMS North event for the Neville Brothers, the 34th annual Keith Fleck Miller 100 Presented by Barron Motor Supply at the Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa was and up and down night for the siblings.

Nick faired the best of the two Prairie State brothers as he retook the Appleton Rack and Pinions Rookie of the Year Points Lead with his sixth place finish back on September 1, 2006.

“Luck was definitely on my side at Hawkeye Downs. There were wrecks all around me most of the race, but somehow I managed to bring the 55 car home in one piece!” Stated Nick. More importantly, we got the rookie points lead back from Derek!” Nick added.

As for Derek, Hawkeye Downs didn’t exactly go his way. “Our luck ran out at Hawkeye Downs three laps into the race when we got caught up in a big crash off of turn two.” Remarked Derek. “This is the second time this year the front end of my car got wrecked in the opening laps of a race (ORP, lap one). He added.

“We rely so much on down force that it’s really hard to drive these cars with no nose or hood and with crashed fenders!” He continued. “Racing for this rookie title has sure been a lot of fun. The points are so close that it just may come down to the last lap at Lacrosse!” Derek ended.

Nick has one Top Five finish, a season high fifth place effort at the Lake Erie (PA) Speedway back on June 9, 2006 to go with four Top 10 finishes to lead the freshman title chase with two points nights left by just 10 markers over his older brother (1362-1352).

Derek’s best effort so far has been a runner-up showing at the Lorain (OH) Speedway on June 24, 2006. The second place showing is Derek’s lone Top Five to go with three Top 10 showings

As for the Overall points chase in the ASALMS Northern Division, The Neville Brothers are fifth and sixth respectively with Nick only 32 points back of veteran, Peter Cozzolino.

Both Neville Brothers run Lefthander Chassis Chevrolet Monte Carlos as Derek carries sponsorship on the side of his machine from Hutton Motorsports as well as Zeigler Enterprises, Buzz Motorsports, and M.P.H. Promotions.

Younger Brother, Nick carries sponsorship from; Hutton Car Care, as well as Ben E. Neville Roll-Off Service, Signs of Success, M.P.H. Promotions, Zeigler Enterprises, and Buzz Motorsports.
